When I named this song, Dirk Nowitzki certainly was not as well known as he is today. It’s a poor song title regardless. But it is one of my favourite pieces that I have ever recorded. I’ve considered re-recording it for an album track a number of times, but I don’t think I could play it again the way it’s played here - even though there’s a low rumble throughout the song from me accidentally bumping the mic stand while I was playing the guitar.
Again, the drums were added later, and I wish I could get a drum sound like this again. I don’t know if it was the cramped bedroom, or where I placed the microphones, but I really love how the drums sound. Unfortunately I can’t remember what I did.
